CD Project Red just announced that Cyberpunk 2077’s official release has to be delayed by about 5 months to September 17, 2020.

During the late evening hours of January 16th Marcin Iwinski (Co-Founder of CD Project Red) and Adam Badowski (Head of Studio) announced that they had to move the launch date of Cyberpunk 2077 due to ongoing playtesting, fixing and polishing. They went ahead and explained that Night City – due to its sheer scale and complexity – needs further time directed towards exploring its story, heaps of content and all locations to really make sure that everything works and plays out exactly as intended. “We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect”, was stated in their announcement. Additionally, CD Project Red promised to keep in touch in regard of more regular updates as the release date approaches.
