As the headline suggests, Digimon Survive has been delayed yet again. According to TOEI Animation's latest financial report, the release date has been pushed back from its intended release timeframe in 2021 to "Q3 2022 and beyond." Please note that Q3 does not pertain to the 3rd quarter of 2022, but their fiscal year, which ends on 31 March 2022.
Earlier today, Skellybur, a Twitter follower of Grindosaur, reached out to me and shared an article by Gematsu about Digimon Survive's delay. Unfortunately, this delay does not come unexpectedly, as we did not get any news about Digimon Survive's release date during Gamescom or DigiFes 2021 (as we anticipated and expected to happen). This revelation also stands in stark contrast to the information shared by me two months ago about Survive's release that I found inside TOEI Animation's last financial report and the Digimon Game portal.
The newly found information about its delay comes directly from TOEI Animation's latest financial report. Please note that the PDF is currently only available in Japanese. An English version is not yet available, nor have developer Witchcraft, publisher Bandai Namco, or TOEI Animation publicly commented on Digimon Survive's delay. I assume that an official statement will follow in the upcoming days.
