Shiver Snowfields: Snowfields (Day)

Although the author of the travelogue never reached this desolate tundra, some Pokémon nevertheless call these snowcapped mountains home.

The Shiver Snowfields' daytime course unlocks after completing the Lental Seafloors' Illumina Spot at least once.

This table showcases the required Research Experience you must accumulate to reach the next level of the course. Upon reaching the next level, you must collect the displayed amount of experience, as experience does not roll over from level to level.

The daytime version of the Shiver Snowfields offers two alternative routes for you to explore. You can unlock the first by photoing an Alolan Sandslash sitting atop a giant pile of snow to the left upon starting your exploration. However, taking a picture of Sandslash will spook it, and it will dig into the snow right away. Yet, shortly after, it will reappear on another pile to the left further down the path. Snap another picture, and you will spook it once more. Now follow the trail, but once you come close to the incline leading up to the snowy plateau, you will catch the same Sandslash digging into a snowbank. Once it is gone, you should scan and find an alternative route leading into a small ravine with pine trees.

The second alternative route found in the Shiver Snowfield is only unlockable by discovering it in its nighttime counterpart after unlocking the first alternative route during the day. So, to access it, you must start a nighttime expedition into the Shiver Snowfields and proceed onto the first alternative route unlocked earlier. Once you are in the small pine forest, there will be a Crabominable to the right. Throw an Illumina Orb at it and wait until it is close to a pine tree to throw another. Now, it will punch the pine tree, hurling a pile of snow onto a sleeping Abomasnow–waking it up. Abomasnow will now proceed to conjure up a blizzard in which a Froslass will appear. If you snap a picture of it, it will unlock the second alternative path for you, leading into an Icy Cave.
