Lental Seafloor: Undersea's alternative routes
The Undersea offers two alternative routes. You can access the first route at research level 2. Here, it would be best if you interacted with Clawitzer, swimming past you on your way to the kelp area. Eventually, it will stop at a wall indentation and charge its attack. Right before it shoots its water blast at a stone barring a concealed entry to a tunnel system, throw an Illumina Orb at it to empower its attack. It will vaporize the boulder if done correctly, making way for your undersea exploration. However, suppose you select level 3 of this research expedition. In that case, you will notice that the path is no longer barred by a boulder, giving you easy access to the expanding cave system and the undersea depths.
Furthermore, you must have chosen the first alternative passage to access the second alternative route. While lowering into the undersea depths, you will come across a Lanturn. Throw an Illumina Orb at it. Then, shortly after passing the surfacing Wailord, you will come across the Lanturn from earlier now being held hostage by two Frillish. Again, throw an Illumina Orb at Lanturn to aid it in its struggle. Proceed further into the ocean's depth, and you will come across the Lanturn again when arriving at the seafloor. It will show you a wall crack and swim into it. After scanning it and confirming your selection with X, you will venture into this narrow passage's depths, allowing you to explore the second alternative route.
